About this data
This table shows breakdowns of household final consumption expenditure on durable goods, semi-durable goods, non-durable goods, and services. Durable goods are defined as goods that can be used repeatedly or continuously over a period of considerably more than one year and have a substantially higher purchasers’ price than semi-durable goods and non-durable goods. Non-durable goods can only be used once or have a lifetime of considerably less than one year. Semi-durable goods differ from non-durable goods in that they can be used repeatedly or continuously over a period longer than a year and they differ from durable goods in that their expected lifetime of use, though longer than a year, is often significantly shorter and their purchasers’ price is substantially less. For countries for which data on Annual household final consumption expenditure are already available according to the COICOP 2018 classification, statistics can be found in dataset: Annual household final consumption expenditure of durable goods and other goods and services (COICOP 2018) Data is presented for each country in national currency as well as in euros for the European Union and the euro area.
