About this data
This table presents the final consumption expenditure of households broken down by the Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (COICOP 2018). The totals are for all final consumption expenditure in the domestic economy, whether by residents or non-residents. For countries for which data on Annual household final consumption expenditure by purpose are not yet available according to the COICOP 2018 classification, statistics can be found in this dataset:Annual household final consumption expenditure by purpose (COICOP) The COICOP provides detailed breakdowns, so the presentation is on a country-by-country basis and users are recommended to select one country (or area) at a time in the ‘Reference area’ filter. However, it is also possible to select a small number of expenditure categories in the ‘Expenditure’ filter to compare results for several countries. Data is presented for each country in national currency as well as in euros for the European Union and the euro area. The information is presented in current prices, but users can select chain linked volumes and previous year prices using the ‘Price base’ filter.
